Indian Creek Festival

Indian Creek Festival

Indian Creek Festival began in 2003 as a celebration of when the first section of Indian Creek in downtown Caldwell was uncovered. What was once a small gathering in a parking lot has become a two-day festival that spans blocks in downtown Caldwell. This community event has evolved over the years and includes a car cruise, car show, chalk art contest, and a local marketplace. On Friday night the plaza features live music, also known as Oldies on the Plaza but the most anticipated event is the cardboard kayak race where teams compete to see who can build the fastest, watertight kayak out of just cardboard and duct tape.

Tejano Music Festival

Tejano Music Festival

The Tejano Music Festival is in the works and planning is well under way. Everyone is invited to this free event to be held at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell.

The Tejano Music Festival event is organized to bring and keep Tejano Music alive and going in the state of Idaho and in our Community. Many people migrated to Idaho from Texas and other states to work in agricultural labor and brought our Tejano Music and dancing traditions.  There have been many individuals that for over 60 plus years have worked tirelessly to keep our music Roots and Dancing Alive. Tejano Dances were held in downtown Caldwell and other communities on weekends where we gathered to meet friends, enjoy the music and dance, many met their lifelong partners. Tejano Music is an artistic style of music enjoyed by people of all generations and we would like to continue that tradition and pass it on to future generations.

The water fountain will be open for family entertainment, you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs if you like. Tables and chairs with an umbrella are available on a first come first serve basis.

Idaho Tejano Community Organization strives to promote cross-cultural and inclusive communication and activities. We promote events and activities revolving around culture and heritage of Tejano/Latinos. The production of events and activities occur on an annual basis with the participation of our community and host of volunteers and donors
